On the Ports Contract Controversy
Thursday, March 09, 2006
Like a lot of people, I haven't gotten to considering whether Dubai is any worse than any other country as a manager of some of our major ports. I'm still stuck on, surprise that we outsource so much of this work. With all the glare on exporting of American jobs and the mounting trade deficit, you'd think there would be an American company qualified to do this work. But then I realized the answer. It obviously doesn't pay well. Because if it did, Haliburton would be doing it.

Actually, I read that Halliburton is currently the only American company that does still do it.
