About Us
A penny for your thoughts indeed. Around here that would be a raise.

What makes a good blog? I think thematic consistency, a little exhibitionism, and honest writing. I can promise you the last one.

Most of my posts seem to be about music or politics. Some of them are funny. But all of them would love to hear a comment from you.

Oh-- and please welcome God to the APW team. We're thrilled and humbled to serve as His earthly vessel.

Name:
Location: NYC

I was born at a relatively young age. Growing up consumed the better part of my childhood. As a young man I chased a lot of girls. But they kept getting away. Then I got older and even slower, so I got married. I've lived in New York City almost since before I moved here. I summer in Manhattan, which is like New York City, but with more humidity.

Here's me, without baby, thinking big thoughts. (Actually, what I'm thinking is, "Hey, these aren't Pringles!") I think I look better with baby.

The Gulf Crisis, day 4
Friday, September 02, 2005
I very much wanted to refrain from going all political on the Flood disaster in New Orleans, and that remains my inclination. However, the stark relief that is cast by our response to this Gulf crisis and the one in Iraq makes itself impossible to ignore. This, from the Army Times (is that an objective enough source?), on the fact that deployment of the National Guard to Iraq has hindered the Guard's presence in the Hurricane relief effort.

This morning CNN carried a radio interview originally aired by WWL radio with Ray Nagin, mayor of New Orleans. Ray speaks bluntly, and speaks volumes. "I need troops, man." Check it out.

It is hard to be silent when it is obvious that too little, too late has been done and the also obvious reasons why. Thank you...my sister got out after way too many horrible days trapped in the city of New Orleans. We are glad she is alive. I am upset beyond words for those who did not...not to mention the rest of the southern coastal region.
